After a long, hard fought struggle, he succumbed to his illness on January 29, 2010 at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 3 days. Donnie grew up in Amarillo and attended Palo Duro High School. After graduating he moved to Oklahoma City where he owned and operated Falcone Steel. He later returned to Amarillo where he married Annette Alexander on July 6, 1973. They remained in the Amarillo area where he owned a construction business. In 1984 they moved to Claude, Texas and owned several restaurants. He later did road maintenance for Armstrong County, Texas until moving to Durham, Oklahoma to make their home. Donnie was a man of many talents who loved his family especially his grandchildren who were the apple of his eye. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Ronald Brittain, a sister, Ruth Brittain Richardson, two grandsons, Jaxon and Daniel Brittain, and a granddaughter, Misty Brittain. He is survived by his wife, Annette, of the home; 6 sons, Donald Brittain, Amarillo, Texas, Danny Brittain and wife Jennifer, Nocona, Texas, David Brittain and wife, Shannon, Amarillo, Texas, Raymond Brittain, Amarillo, Texas, Corey Brittain and wife, Teena, Durham, Oklahoma, Ryan Brittain, of the home; 6 granddaughters, 7 grandsons, 5 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Dwayne Brittain and wife, Betty, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Leo Brittain and wife, Karen, Graham, Texas and Ron Richardson, Henrietta, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Durham First Baptist Church with Bro. Darrly Moore officiating. Burial followed at the Mulberry Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne.
