Dillon Marsh and Rev. Bobby Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Kiowa Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Robert Dalton "Curley" Burrows was born September 11, 1927 to Robert Duncan and Mae Smith Burrows on the ranch southwsest of Hammon, Oklahoma in Roger Mills County. With the exception of his time he served in the United States Navy, he has lived on the ranch all of his life. He went to his reward May 3, 2010 at the age of 82 years and 7 months. He attended school at Kiowa and Hammon. He was married to Esther Annie Dodd on June 2, 1945 at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Clinton, Oklahoma. They were blessed with three children, Teresa Roberta, Dalton Leon and Larry Don. Besides running the ranch, he worked at various other jobs such as, Harold's Concrete, a guard for Howard's Furniture, Hammon School Bus Driver, Seismograph Crew and Dry Watch in the oil field. He also established the Valley View Chapel on the ranch and spent many hours supporting it with outdoor singings, and even served as pastor approximately five years. In 1999, Esther passed away and on January 21, 2000, Curly was married to Ruby Gayle Collins at the Church of God in Altus, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Hammon Pentecostal Holiness Church where his mother had been a charter member. In his younger days, he loved to go duck and coyhote hunting and enjoying raising registered Hereford and Quarter Horses. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Esther; his oldest son, Dalton; one grandson, Danny Leon Burrows; one great-grandson, Mason Chaney; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Burrows; two brothers, Oran and Doyle Burrows and one step-son Rickey Collins. He is survived by his wife, Gayle of the Hammon home; 1 daughter Teresa Chaney and husband Burt of Hammon, Oklahoma; 1 son, Larry Burrows and wife Mira of Canute, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Burrows of Hammon; step-son, Ronnie Collins and wife Patti; step-daughter, Rhonda Goforth and husband Glen; step-daughter-in-law Sharon Collins, all of Altus, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, Robert Chaney and wife Beckey; Greg Chaney and wife Kim; Danita Cloud and husband Brandon; Dustin Burrows, Cher Goodwin and husband Billy; Charla Lambert and husband Jeff; 10 step-grandchildren, Steven Collins and wife Ashley, Misty Holder and husband Steven; Allen Collins and wife Kristina; Jared Goforth, Jon Goforth and wife Amanda; Leeann Goforth, Wade Collins and wife Lindsey; Michelle Barenett, Julie Kelly and husband Kevin; and Stephanie Neal and husband Billy; 12 great-grandchildren; 26 step-great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
