All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Rose Hill Cemetery--Elk City OK Surnames: Miller, Cobb, Kinke, Originally posted at: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.oklahoma.counties.rogermills/8131/mb.ashx Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Rose Hill cemetery, northwest of Elk City in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, for three members of one family, Mrs. Martha Jane Miller, 73, her daughter, Mrs. Esther Agnes Cobb, 46, and Mrs. Cobb's 10-yeatr-old daughter, Cora Evelyn Cobb. Mrs. Miller, a pioneer resident of Roger Mills, died Friday from a heart ailment, and her daughter and granddaughter were killed in a car accident on U.S. highway 66 east of Weatherford while on their way from their home at St. Louis, Mo., to attend the funeral. The accident occurred late Saturday, and Mrs. Cobb and her daughter died Sunday afternoon in a Weatherford hospital. Mrs. Miller had been a resident of Elk City only two years, moving here from the Rose Hill community where she had resided since the turn of the century. Her survivors are Henry Miller, LaPlate, New Mexico; Albert Miller, Demming, New Mexico; and Walter Miller, Mountainair, New Mexico. Mrs. Cobb is survived by three children, Mildred Elaine, David and James. Her husband preceded her in death several years ago. Her daughter who was killed in the accident, was born at Villa Ridge, Missouri, December 23, 1928. Mrs. Mildred Kinke, 24 daughter of Mrs. Cobb, was driving the car at the time of the accident. The car was reported to have overturned when she attempted to pass a team of horses. Mrs. Finke was suffering from head injuries, and James Cobb, 14, received head cuts, and David, 18, was only slightly bruised.
