All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Cauble, Redwine, West James Cauble, an old resident of Cheyenne, was instantly killed last Tuesday, while digging a trench for the foundation of the new bridge being built across Seargent Major creek two miles southwest of Cheyenne. The report comes that Mr. Cauble, Johnson Redwine and J.H. West were working on the ditch it seems as though they were throwing the mud that was being removed from the ditch on the bank. When the bank caved falling on Cauble while in a stooping position, breaking his neck, and death came instantly. Redwine was also caught by the dirt almost covering him entirely up, but was not hurt; Mr. Cauble was an old settler in that community and is well known here. He leaves a widow and three children and hosts of friends to mourn his untimely death. The remains were interred at the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma Wednesday.
