Cofer, 58, of 116 W. Coe, Midwest City were held recently in the Howard Memorial Baptist Church. Burial was held at the Arlington Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Bill Eisenhour N.E. Funeral Home. A native of Strong City, Oklahoma. Charles had resided in the Midwest City area for over 30 years. He had served as secretary and treasurer of the Teachers Retirement System of oklahoma since 1946. He was a former City Councilman of Del City. A member of the Howard Memorial Baptist Church, where he had served as treasurer, Deacon and Sunday School teacher for a number of years. He had been a scout leader for Frontier Boy Scout Council for 10 years. He was a member of the National Council of Teachers Retirement Systems. He is survived by his wife, Ruth of the home. Two daughters, Sue Clabaugh and Brenda Newmark both of Midwest City. One son, Kenneth of Galveston, Texas. Three grandchildren, Adrianna, Traci and Charles of Midwest City, Two sisters, Louise Lee of Del City and Winifred Mabra of Choctaw. Memorial donations may be made to the Baptist Children's Home.
