Mrs. Cofer died at her home in Strong City Wednesday, following a long illness. She was born February 6, 1857 in Leon County, Texas and came to Old Day County in 1800 and has lived in the same vicinity since that time. She is a long time member of the Strong City Baptist Church. Survivors include six daughtgers, Mrs. Lula Brestridge, of Cheyenne, Mrs. Nannie Grisson of Elk City, Mrs. Minnie Hammitt of Ft. Sumner, N. Mex., Mrs. Mae Cybhurs, Stead, N. Mex., Mrs. Lellia Cooper, Norman, Ark., and Mrs. Francis McGuire of Oklahoma City; two sons, Jim and Gus Cofer of strong City. Her husband and three children preceded her in death. The Rev. Andrew Borum and Rev. E.E. Hastey officiated at the last rites. Burial was in the Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Scroggins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
