All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Tomberlin, Green, Cooper Velam Tomberlin Cooper was born September 10, 1893 to John and Mary Buck Green at Lead Hill, Arkansas, and departed this life at Sayre, Oklahoma, November 12, 1985 at the age of 92 years 2 months and 2 days. She moved to Old Newburg, Indian Territory, with her parents in a covered wagon when she was seven years of age. She grew up in Indian Territory and was united in marriage to Raymond L. Tomberlin at Atwood, Oklahoma, September 10, 1911. To this union were born nine children of whom seven survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband May 24, 1959. She later married Tom Cooper in Merced, California, November 30, 1961. He preceded her in death October 16, 1964. She has been a member of the Church of Christ for all of her adult life. Survivors include Lowell and Dixie Tomberlin, Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Virgil and Violet Tomberlin, Lockeford, California; Sid Cogburn, Las Cruces, New Mexico, Letha and T.J. Archer, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Bob and Evelyn Tomberlin, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Gerald and Ila Tomberlin, Sayre, Oklahoma; Leon and Joan Tomberlin, Hammon, Oklahoma; Bill and Glenda Tomberlin, Alva, Oklahoma; 23 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren, and 4 step daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Jona Frank Tomberlin and Mildred Cogburn; one grandson, Ross Dean Archer; and one granddaughter, Kitty Fran Tomberlin. She was a mother to many and a friend to all.
