All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Cox, Moffett, Brewer, Isch, Jurgenson, Repass, Bates Thomas Carter Cox was born January 28, 1906 in Hickman County, TN and passed away February 26, 1991 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years and 29 days. Carter, the son of Thomas Arnold and Cora Moffett Cox, moved with his parents to Grimes in 1910. On May 19, 1928 he married Thelma Leona Brewer in Arapaho, OK and they lived in Grimes until World War II. They lived in Fort Riley, KS, Milwaukee, WI and Manhattan, KS where he was an ROTC Insuructor at Kansas State University. He later moved to Fort Carson, CO where he retired on July 1, 1962 before moving to Fountain, CO then to Chickasha, OK; Midwest City, OK; and to Sayre in 1990. Carter was a veteran and had served in WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, 3 daughters, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by: 1 daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Ira Isch of Edmond, OK; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Otis and Agnes Cox of Albuquerque; 3 sisters, Nellie Jurgenson of Sayre, OK; Viola Repass of West Plains, MO; Willie Bates also of West Plains, Mo; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. Funeral services were Friday March 1, 1991 at 1:30 p.m. at the Sayre First Baptist Church with Ray Smart and Tom Cooksey officiating.
