Cook, 75, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road with the Rev. Michael Carter, pastor of River Road Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by the funeral home. Mrs. Cook was born in Strong City, Okla. and moved to Amarillo in 1927 where she worked for Furds Cleaners, was a gate attendant at Amarillo Modified Midget Race Track for 15 years, and retired from Levi Strauss in 1984. She was a member of Amarillo Garden Club and of the River Road Baptist Church. She married Floyd B. Cook in 1952. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Irene Tate of Tulsa, Okla. and Gloria Miller and Carla Sanders, both of Amarillo; three brothers, Grant Albright of Amarillo, Roy Albright of Cheyenne, Okla. and Dale Albright of Levelland; a stepson; three stepdaughters; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; stepgrandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176-0001. The family will be at 3416 S. Hughes.
