All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Cogburn, Hitt, Trammell, Little, Johnson Doris Myrtle Hitt was born in Palmyra, Missouri October 2, 1884 and departed from this life at Elk City on April 1, 1953. She was converted at an early age and joined the Methodist church. At the age of 17 years she moved to Eakly, Oklahoma. On February 3, 1903, she was united in marriage to C.R. Cogburn at Arapaho and immediately moved to Roger Mills County, four miles southeast of Strong City, where she lived until the time of her death. She was prceded in death by her husband in 1943. She leaves to mourn her passing five children, Mrs. Goldie Trammell, Cheyenne; Mrs. Gladys Little, North Platte, Nebraska; Robert Cogburn, Strong City; Mrs. Flora Belle Johnson, Elk City; and Sidney Cogburn, Strong City. Nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church of Cheyenne. Burial was in the Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Scroggins Funeral Home, Cheyenne, in charge of arrangements.
