Casady, well known resident of Cheyenne, passed away on Tuesday evening, April 6, 1937 at Shattuck hospital, and interment was made in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma on Thursday afternoon, April 8, 1937. Mr. Casady had beenin poor health for the past year and had been in the hospital for four weeks previous to the time of his passing. W.R. Casady was born October 11, 1873 at Hubbard City, Texas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Casady. On November 4, 1894 he was married to Etta Dillender of Mineral Wells, Texas. In 1900 he moved to Roger Mills county, okalhoma and had resided in the vicinity of Cheyenne since that time. Survivors are his wife and eight children who are: W.J. (Jack) Casady, Cheyenne, Okla.; Esther Perkins, Animas, Colo., Johnnie Olson, Grimes, Okla.; Jim Casady, Gotebo, Okla.; Buck Casady, Cheyenne, Okla., Dalona Smith, Las Animas, Colo.; Doris Casady, Cheyenne, and Donna Casady, Cheyenne; his morhter, Mrs. J.R. Casady, Cheyenne, three brothers, Ott Casady of Cody, Wyoming; Oscar Casady and John C. Casady of Cheyenne; and one sister, Mrs. Mollie Herring also of Cheyenne; and a host of grand children, nephews and nieces and other relatives. Funeral services were conducted Thursday in the Baptist church in Cheyenne with Rev. Carleton delivering the sermon. He had been a member of the local Baptist church for the past 33 years. Pall bearers were from the local WPA office where he had been employed. W.R. "Bill" Casady was a quiet unassuming man who chose to walk in the humble path during life. He was a hard-working man, devoting his entire life to labor.
