Casady will be conducted from the Methodist church in Cheyenne Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Ray Menard of Erick preaching the funeral sermon. The last rites at the graveside will be under the auspices of the Odd Fellows lodge. Death came to Oscar Casady Monday evening, December 11, 1944 in an Elk City hospital where he had been ten days previous. Oscar had been in poor health for several years and on December 8 he submitted to an operation which, from all visible appearances was successful. His strength began to fail on Sunday and on Monday his condition became serious, but his death that evening was a grear shock to all. Immediate survivors are two brothers, Ott Casady of Valley, Wyoming, and John C . Casady of Cheyenne, and one sister, Mrs. Mollie Herring, also of Cheyenne. Oscar Casady, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Casady, was born in Hubbard City, Texas, June 22, 1877 and in 1892 came to Cheyenne with his parents. He moved from Texas to Old Greer County in 1891 and in 1892 came to Cheyenne with his parents and here he has resided for the past 52 years. He was a member of the Methodist church and of the Odd Fellows lodge. Oscar was never married. At the time of his passing he and his sister, Mrs. Mollie Herring, resided together. Oscar was an even-tempered, kind hearted person who apparently got more pleasure in working for the accomodation of his friends than in receiving money compensation for his labor. Oscar was a person whose loyalty to his friends was such that he saw no wrong in them. His life was one of kindness and sacrifice for others and his loss will be keenly felt by many beyond the family circles.
