He passed away May 2, 2003 in Sayre Memorial Hospital in Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years 3 months and 13 days. Ted moved with his family to Roger Mills County at the age of four, where they moved south of Leedey. He started school at Friendship school in 1922 they moved to Crawford where he attended at Antelope Hills School and later attended school at Crawford. He went to CC Camp in 1934. He was married to Lola Mae Griffey at Roll, Oklahoma on June 6, 1937. In 1946, he worked in Dumas, Texas at a smelter plant where they produced Zinc. He went to work in the oilfield in 1951 in Hobbs, New Mexico. He moved back to Crawford, Oklahoma in 1966 to make his home. He was a member of Sayre First Baptist Church. Ted also, farmed and ranched, while working on an off in the oilfield. He was preceeded in death by his parents, wife, 4 sisters, 3 brothers and 1 grandson. He enjoyed playing Dominos. Services were held Monday, May 5, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Crawford Magnolia Baptist Church, officiated by Terry Beals. Burial was held at the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Survivors include: 1 daughter, Mary Jo Arthurs of Bentonville, Arkansas; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Ted Jr. and Shirley Castle of Sterling, Oklahoma, Jackie and Donnetta Castle of Vici, Oklahoma, Wayne and Linda Castle of Moore, Oklahoma, Curtis and Jackie Castle of Crawford, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Dorothy Mae Bosse of Emporia, Kansas, Mary Jane Trudelle of California; host of relatives and friends.
