Calvert former Cheyenne resident who died Monday December 14, 1971 in Doctors General Hopsital in Oklahoma City following a bried illness were conducted from the Cheyenne Methodist Church Wednesday, December 15, 1971 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Chuck Wallace of nicoma park and Rev. Roy Weaver of Cheyenne officiating. Burial followed in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Mr. Calvert was born October 12, 1891 at Jacksoboro, Texas. He came to Roger Mills County spending most of his life there, moving to Elk City later and then to Nicoma Park, Oklahoma in 1963, where he presently resided. He was married to Roxie Young September 30, 1917 at Cheyenne. He was an electrician and a member of the Nicoma Park Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Roxie of the home, one son Mariril of Nicoma Park, two daughters, Genia Long, Field of Bellington, Washinton and Mrs. Iris Dial of McLoud, Oklahoma, one sister, Mrs. Tavis Sprowls, of Cheyenne; three brothers, Frank Calvert of Cheyenne; Eldridge Calver, of Crescent, Oklahoma, and Roy Calvert, of Ingleside, Texas; six grandchildren and 4 great grand children. The family has suggested the Heart Fund as the appropriate memorial.
