The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Marvin Lee Claussen, son of George W. and Maud Claussen, was born January 29, 1915 on a farm northwest of Thomas in Dewey County. At a young age his parents moved to a nearby farm where Marvin spent most of his life. He died at the Thomas Memorial Hospital on January 3, 1921 at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 5 days. Marvin attended the Pleasant Dale School northwest of Thomas. He spent all of his years in the Thomas area excetp for a short time when he lived in southern California doing construction work. When his father becam ill, he returned home to work on the family farm. Marvin was married to Loriene Tolman on June 23, 1941. To this union five children were born: Lynda, Donnie Marlene, Carol, and Marvin Larry. During these years, Marvin was busy raising his family and working on the farm where he raised cattle and wheat. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. One of his favorite hobbies in his later years was his hunting dogs. He shared this love with family and friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Marvin Larry. Survivors include his wife, Loriene of the home; his children and their spouses: Lynda and Otis Clark, of Shawnee; Donnie and Glenda Calussen, of Thomas; Mariene and Gary Leedy, of Cheyenne; and Carol and Larry Goyer, of Weatherfoid; Thirettn grandchildren and two great granddaughters, with a host of relatives and friends that remain to mourn their loss. Funeral servicxes were 2;00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 1992 at the United Methodist Churc h in Thomas with Rev. Darly Owen and Rev. Charlesx Rickel officiating. Burial was in Mound Valley Cemetery at Thomas under the direction of the Russell Funeral Home in Thomas. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
