She came with her parents and sisters to Dewey County, Oklahoma in 1903. On June 24, 1910 she was united in marriage to Thomas Clayton of Crowel, Texas. They established their home in the Putman vicinity. They have lived in Hammon the past 31 years. She professed her faith in Chrsit and placed her membership in the Christian Church of Clinton, Oklahoma. She enjoyed reading her Bible and was always ready to tell others about her Christ. She was a loving, devoted wife and mother. Surviving are her husband, Thomas L. Clayton of the home; three sons, Huel of Arapaho, Lonnie and Earl of Hammon; two sisters, Mrs. Fern Shirley and Mrs. Elva Harper of Thomas; five grandchildren and one gredat granddaughter; many nieces and nephews, also other relatives and friensds who will mourn her passing. Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church. Burial was in Red Hill cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
