Clines was born at Chandler, Lincoln County, oklahoma, August 6, 1906. When three years old his parents moved to about six miles southwest of Cheyenne, Okla., living there one year, then moving to Rankin, Roger Mills County, where he has lived until his death, Saturday 7:45 a.m. April 11, 1925, aged 18 years, 8 months and 1 day. Willie grew to manhood in our community, attending the Rankin school and farming when not in school. He was very kindly and gentlemanly in his home, at school and with all his associates. About two weeks ago he was sick a few days with the "flu" and maybe got out and around his home too soon, for he soon took down with bronchial pneumnia and lived less than a wekk against the best medical aid to be had. He told his mother that he was going away and asked for his brothers and sisters to come say goodbye; his mother asked him where he was going and he said that he was going up higher. He leaves to mourn his death his father and mother, two brothers, Evert and Jimmie; and three sisters Jewell, Ruby and Eva; and other rleatives living in our midst and every one his friend. Three brothers and sisters have preceded him to the Heavenly home. The funeral services were held in the Rank church at 3 p.m. and Revs. J.M. Vines and C.L. Carpenter conducting same; and burial in the Rankin (White Rose) cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, April 12, 1925 Easter Sabbath. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Roger Mills Archives http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/rogermills/rogermills.html
