Collins, a long-time resident of Hammon, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Hammon Baptist Church with Hugh Collett officiating. Burial was in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Martin Funeral Home. Mr. Collins was born October 18, 1885 in Little Rock, Arkansas and died Monday, October 18, 1965, his 80th birthday, in an Elk City hospital. He was married to Ellen Mae Pass in Gary, Texas, August 8, 1906. They moved to the Hammon area in the early 1900's and lived here ever since. He was a retired harness and leather shop worker and a member of the First Christian Church in Elk City. Survivors include his widow of the home address; 2 sons, Beauford Collins, La Mesa, California, and Oran collins, Lemon Grove, California; 5 dayghters, Mrs. Elra Bailey, El Cajon, California; Mrs. Aubrey Buchannan, Woodward, OK; Mrs. Ruth Irwin, Hammon, OK; Leona Kane, Longview, Texas; and Nellie Pittman, Oklahoma City, OK; 2 sisters, Mrs. Evie Tomkins, Weatherford, OK, and Mrs. Lettie Youngblood, Los Angeles, California; a brother, Fred Collins, Oklahoma City, OK; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
