All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Collier, Smith, Ballard, Barnes, Striker, Barr, Tracy, Sewell, Mitchell Dudley Hastings Collier was born August 8, 1861 to Louise H. and Betty Smith Collier at Liberty Hill, Williamson County, Texas. Mr. Collier passed away at Hollister, Oklahoma in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Oral Ballard, at 7:40 a.m. September 15, 1949, at the age of 88 years, one month and seven days. He was united in marriage December 25, 1882 to Miss Grorgia Barnes at Liberty Hills, Texas, remaining there until coming to Cheyenne, Oklahoma in 1893 where they established a residence and resided until 1907, at which time they moved to New Mexico, later returning to Cheyenne, Oklahoma where they resided until the death of Mrs. Collier. To this union were born four sons and six daughters. Mr. Collier was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Georgia Barnes Collier in 1940, one son, Gilbert W. Collier in 1912 and two daughters, Mrs. Betty Striker in 1932 and Mrs. Willie Emerson Barr in 1928. He is survived by three sons, Leslie S., Lewis H. and Oliver C. Collier all of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and four daughters, Mrs. Eva Tracy, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Mrs. Oral Ballard, Hollister, Oklahoma, Mrs Claudie Sewell, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Mrs. Thelma Mitchell, Miami, Florida. He is also survived by 12 grandsons, nine granddaughters and 19 great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church in Cheyenne on Satuday afternoon, September 27, 1949 with Rev. James Combs, pastor of the church officiating.
