Belter and Elizabeth Mathieson Belter. Since her mother died shortly after her birth, her father and her took residence with Jim and Christine Williams. The Williams' raised their niece in a loving, caring home till grown. Odie startefd her early education at Bessie, Oklahoma the family then moved to a farm west of Cheyenne, known as the Washita Battlefield where she lived until her marriage to Harvy Sasser in 1953. This union produced one son, Jim Sasser. In 1938, she married Homer Conway. A daughter Yvonne and two sons, Donald and Wesley were born to this union. Most of her life was spent in the Cheyenne area mostly on a farm south of Cheyenne. An excellent cook and a generous heart, she believed in keeping an open door to anyone in need of a good meal, a warm bed and motherly touch. Many took advantage of this generosity, feeling perfectly at homre. In 1986 she moved from the farm into a comfortable apartment in Cheyenne. Her cooking skills drew many to good home cooked meals and homemade bread. Eventually, arthritis and the ravages to time confined her to the Cheyenne Care Center for the last year of her life. She was a member of the Cheyenne First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 8 siblings, which included her half brothers, step brother and step sister and her foster sisters. Services will be held Thursday April 3, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Cheyenne First Baptist Church, officiatedf by Ken Shiplet. Burial will be at the Cheyenne Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Survivors include: Daughter and spouse, Yvonne and Andy Longoria of Ponca City, Oklahoma; son and spouse, Doanld and Sally Conway of Mesquite, Texas, son and spouse Wesley and Lola Conway of Gore, Oklahoma; son, James Sasser of Bard, New Mexico; one step sister, Pearl Thomas of Wichita, Kansas; 6 grandchildren and spouses, Leslie Conway, Romona and Kobie Rhodes, Monte and Zoanne Conway, Mark Longoria; 5 great grandchildren, Lynci hodes, Justin Rhodxes, Sierra Anseimo, Lacy Rhodes, Heath Mcntyre, host of relatives and friends.
