All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Coon, Hooper Miss Margaret Jewel Hooper was born October 15, 1895 at Nocoman, Texas and departed this life Feburary 18, 1929. She was married to V.R. Coon on October 19, 1913. To this union were born four children, three boys and a girl. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, four children, mother, father, eight brothers, one sister and a host of friends. She was baptized into the Church of Christ in April, 1923. Mrs. Coon was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hooper who reside near Midway. She had grown up in this county and had a host of friends who loved her. She was a great favorite with her family. Mrs. Coon had been in poor health for about a year. Some two weeks ago she became so critical that she was taken to Clinton and placed in the hospital. Later she was operated for an abscess on the lung and the doctors there pronounced the cause of her death abscess on the lung and pleurisy. Funeral services were preached by Bro. Taylor of Sweetwater, Wednesday afternoon in the Cheyenne Baptist church after which the Rebekahs of Cheyenne had their burial ceremony. The body was laid to rest in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma beneath a floral mound, in the presence of a large delugation of friends from Cheyenne, Durham, Crawford and Midway where she had acquaintances.
