Elize went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 19, 2001, at Share Convalescent Center in Alva, Oklahoma after suffering several recent strokes. He was born October 20, 1916, in Brandleyville, Missouri. Elzie retired after a lifetime in Western OKlahoma businesses, beign active in the ownership and management of hatcheries in Granite and Cheyenne, flour mills in Durham and Cheyenne, feed mills and grain eleavtors in Cheyenne and Sayre, real estate sales and motels. Elzie was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Irene; parents Lewis Arlington and Annie Campbell of Seiling, Oklahoma, a brother, Albert Calvin Campbell of Seiling, Oklahoma, and a great host of friends. Surviving are two sons: Larry with his wife Christine of San Antonio, Texas and Jerry with his wife Betty of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Campbell and wife Sherry, Alan Campbell and wife Stephanie of Littleton, Colorado, Jerry Ray Campbell, Jr. and wife Sharon of Coronado, California and Terri Parsons and husband Don of Alva, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren Ariel Marie Campbell of Coronado, California and Maxwell Arlington Parsons of Alva, Oklahoma; sisters Mary Lee Gray of Oklahoma City, Velma Mae emmert of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nadine JoAnnDell Dora of Hayward, California and one brother Alvin Laverne of Crockett, Texas. Elzie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, and a fifty-two year member of the Masonic lodge 528 of Reydon, Oklahoma and Masonic Lodge 133 of Cheyenne, Oklahoma as well as a 32nd degree Mason of Scottish Rite, Guthrie, Oklahoma. He served as a Quartermaster in the United States Merchant Marine, steering an oil tanker into six continents during World War II. Elzie was a family man and fisherman. His children and grandchildren will most remember him lingering over a campfire after a long day of fishing and water skiing. Family visitation will be held at Hahn-Cook Street and Draper Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-8. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Boys Ranch, P.O.
