All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Campbell, Cramer, Klopfenstein, Firey, Mann, Flynn, Barnes Memorial services for Wendell Campbell were held Tuesday, March 24, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. form the Martin Funeral Chapel. Wendell, the son of Mike and Ella Cramer Campbell, was born February 17, 1912 near Berlin, OK and passed away March 21, 1998 in Sayre, OK at the age of 86 years and 36 days. Wendell grew up in Berlin and graudated from Berlin High Wchool in 1931. He was converted to Christ in the summer of 1933 and was baptized in a local farm pond. On October 15, 1938 he married a Berlin girl, Nellie Mae Klopfenstein at Sayre, OK. To this union one daughter, Gwendolyn, was born on August 13, 1942. Wendell and Nellie Mae were active in a number of local churches through the years but more recently The First Assembly of God in Elk City. Wendell started a custom harvesting business in 1947 which he continued for 34 years. He owned and operated the John Deere Implement Company in Cheyenne from 1959 to 1962. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Mae of the home; his daughter and son- in-law, Gwendolyn and William Firey of Sand Springs, OK; one brother, Richard Campbell of Wellington, TX; three sisters, Loretta Mann of Elk City, Irene Flynn of Berlin and colene Barnes of Moore, OK; three grandchildlren, Joel, James and Michael and three great grandchildren, Chrystal, Melissa and Joshua. Interment was in the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the dir3ection of Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Wendell and his family have appreciated and valued the unfailing loyalty and love of amily and friends through the years and suggest that flowers may be limited in lieu of a more lasting memorial.
