All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Champlin, Curlin, Page, Whitfield, Scott Lillie Lula Curlin was born in Alma, Ellis County, Texas, December 5, 1875, and departed this life August 25, 1938 at the Tisdal Hospital at Elk City. She united with the Mars Chapel Methodist church of Kaufman County, Texas, soon after her marriage, where whe has held membership until she came to Oklahoma in 1907. Although not uniting with any church after coming to Oklahoma, she lived a devoted Christian life, leaving assurance that she was ready to meet her Lord, when her time to depart this life had come. She was united in marriage to G.N. Champlin in Kaufman County, Texas, June 28, 1897. To this union were born one son, Talmadge and two daughters, Morine and Carrie, all of whom survive. She leaves beside to mourn her going her husband, G.N. Champlin of Strong City; two sisters, Mrs. Mexie Page of Ystela, Texas; Mrs. Lena Whitfield of Alma, Texas; and one brother, J.W. Curlin of Sterling City, Texas; one son-in-law, Claude Scott of Strong City; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was laid to rest in the Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Rev. Fred Wright officiating, assisted by Rev. Mabra.
