All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Chenette, Anderson, Capehart, Perkins, Mobley, Tracy Mrs. Virginia Anderson Chenette succombed with a heart attach in Bogeta, Columbia, March 4, 1970 after an illness of six weeks. She was teaching in a private school there at the time she was stricken. She was born July 15, 1897 to Irene Capehart Anderson and John Anderson in Cheyenne-Territory and attended elementary schools in Elk City and Sayre where she was graduated with the lcass of 1917. Her college work was from Weatherford, Evanston, Illionois, Florida State and the University of New Mexico. she had taught in the Tombstone, Arizona area for five years. She had gone to Bogota to accompany a niece and nephew of Mr. Chenette's who were returning to their Missionary-parents after high school and college in Arizona, but had the opportunity to teach there so decided to stay. This was her second year in South America. She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson. Survivors include her son, Stephen Lee Chenette (a member of the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra and University faculty of University of Minnesota). Two sisters, Mrs. Mae Perkins, Pueblo, Coloardao; Mrs. Goldie Mobley, Durango, Colorado; and two brothers Gilbert Anderson and Nampa, Idaho, Jack Anderson, of Phoenix, Arizona; and two daughters Kathy and Michele. While attending schools in Sayre, she made her home with her aunt, the late Mr. and Mrs. D.W. Tracy and was well known as a traveler, teacher and writer.
