Kelly Steve Cantrell was born on June 11, 1957 at Sayre, Oklahoma to Wesley Cantrell and Louise Forester. He attended school at Cheyenne through the third grade. At the age of eight he moved to Amaarillo where he continued his education and went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad. He married in 1978 and a son, Jeremy, was born in 1979. Kelly worked in the tree trimming business in Amarillo until he moved to Cheyenne and worked for Farmers Supply Truckin Co. He returned to Amarillo in 1991 where he lived until the time of his death. He is preceded in death by an infant son and by his mother, Louise Berry. Survivors include his father, Wesley Cantrell of Amarillo, Texas; 1 son, Jeremy Cantrell, Amarillo, Texas; two brothers, Tony Cantrella nd Benny Cantrell, both of Amarillo; 3 sisters, Janice Boatman, Leedey, Oklahoma, Vickie Maxwell, Vici, Oklahoma and Paulette Wesner, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Grandmother, Ellen Forcaster, Elk City, Oklahoma; aunt Letha and Uncle A.C. Hodnett, Amarillo; many nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. Services were at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Martin Road Chapel of Schooler-Gordon-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors with the Rev. Alberta Helton of Reydon Community Church, Reydon, Oklahoma officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery, Amarillo, Texas. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
