All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Cantrell, Barber, Roberts, Rosas, Davis Lura Mae Cantrell, 88, Elk City was born April 3, 1897 in Indian Territory to Jim and Jeanetta Barber and passed from this life Sunday, August 25, 1985 in Hodges Nursing home of Elk City. She came to Western Oklahoma with her parents, in a covered wagon in 1905. On November 16, 1905 she was married to Hubert Lester Cantrell in Cheyenne. Following their marriage they lived in Strong City, Hammon, and Cheyenne before moving to Elk City to make their home. She had been a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Elk City for a number of years. Those who preceded her in death were her husband, in 1974, her parents, 2 daughters, and 1 son as infants as well as 4 sisters. Survivors include 3 daughters, Alma Roberts of Arizona, LaCreta Rosas of California; Tressie Davis of Oklahoma; 2 sons, L.M. Cantrell of Oklahoma; Roy Cantrell of Arizona; 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, August 29, 1985, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne with A.L. Martin and Aubrey Cowan officiating. Interment followed in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Services of Cheyenne. Pallbearers were Blackie Musick, Aubrey Daniel, Bill Sizemore, Lee Roy Musick, E.L.
