All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Cantrell, Quattlebaum, Hodnett, Archer, Knight, Chambliss Rice Stringer Cantrell was born in Vanzant County, Texas, December 17, 1893 and departed this life at the Veterans Hospital Amarillo, Texas at the age of 61 years, 2 months and 7 days. He came to Oklahoma as a lad of 12 years of age. He had lived in Roger Mills County practically all of his life. Mr. Cantrell was converted at an early age and united with the Baptist church. He was united in marriage to Blanche Quattlebaum June 29, 1922. To this union 11 children were born, two of whom preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife and six sons three daughters and twqo step- sons. They are Billy Cantrell, Amarillo, Texas, Wesley Cantrell, U.S.Air Force, Frank and John Cantrell, Moorewood, Oklahoma. Claude and Raymond Cantrell of California, Mrs. Letha Hodnett, Amarillo, Texas, Miss Minnie Faye Cantrell, Amarillo, Texas and Mrs. Doris Archer of Cheyenne; Carl Quattlebaum of California and Ralph Knight of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Chambliss, Terrel, Texas, and one brother, Joe Cantrell of California; also 17 grandchildren and a host ofd other relatives. Funeral services were conducted at Red Star Sunday, March 28 with Rev. Clyde Denny in charge, assisted by Rev. Loyd Martin of Roll. Buriall was at Red Star, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the American Legion of Leedey in charge.
