The Revs. Vansel Garoutte and Gene Hensley conducted rites and burial followed in Highland Cemetery at Stonewall. Mr. Cannon died Sunday February 16, 1985, at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born September 28, 1918 in Sayre, Oklahoma to John Henry and Ettaa Epps Cannon, and moved to the Harden City area in December 1958. He attended school in Erick, Oklahoma and Jacosboro, Texas. Mr. Cannon was a rancher in the Fittstown area, a member of Fittstown United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He and Lily Lou Grubb married May 20, 1951. Survivors include his wife, Lilly of the home; 2 sons: Joseph Cannon, Lula, and William A. Cannon, Jr., Houston, Texas; 3 daughters, Myria Gibson, Ardmore, Oklahoma; Marsha Cannon, Chickasha, Oklahoma and Kay Cannon, Stillwater, Oklahoma; 3 brothers, Johnnie Cannon, Herbert Cannon and Hubert Cannon, all of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; 4 sisters: Lillian Fitzgerald, Indian Lake Estates, Florida; Wilma Fitzgerald, New Braunfels, Texas; Jessie Flori, Austin, Texas and Jeffie Vordermark, Lompoc, California; and 4 grandchildren. Bearers were Harold Robertson, Richard Numer, Richard Sexton, Son Patton, Harold Uhilch, and Woodrow Hollinsworth. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
