All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Cannjhon, Epps, Zeeck, Fitzgerald, Vordermark, Flori, Coburn, Hood Ettie Epps Cannon was born June 16, 1886 in Post Oak, Texas and departed this life July 13, 1955, in the Cheyenne hospital, after an illness of three days. She was 69 years and 27 days of age. On January 18, 1905, whe was united in marriage to John H. Cannon in Post Oak. To this union eleven children were born. In August, 1911, she moved with her family from Jacksboro, Texas, to a farm seven miles east of Sayre. For a number of years they lived in Sayre. Then in 1919 the family moved to Erick where they resided until moving to Roger Mills County in 1931, to the community where they have lived until the time of her passing. Grandma Cannon was a member of the Baptist church in Crawford, a good companion, mother, and neighbor. Last January she and her husband, John H. Cannon, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. One daughter preceded her in death. Survivors besides her husband include five daughters: Mrs. Audrey Zeeck, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Wilma Fitzgerald, Argile, Texas; Mrs. Lillian Fitzgerald, Miami, Florida; Mrs. Jeffie Fae Vordermark, Honolulu, T.H.; and Mrs. Jessie Mae Flori, Laredo, Texas; five sons, Ray and Johnnie, both of Crawford; W.A., Reydon; Herbert, Sayre; and Hubert, of Bloomfield, New Mexico. Other survivors are two sisters, Mr. Leona Coburn and Mrs. Wimmie Hood, both of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Leroy Epps, Newport, Texas; Anderson Epps, of Jacksboro, Texas, and Otis Epps of Perryton; fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Crawford school, with Rev. Sanford Cole and Rev. A.L. Martin officiating. Burial was in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Scroggins Funeral Home was in chage of arrangements.
