He passed from this life June 26, 1982 at Roger Mills County Memorial Hospital, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, at the age of sixty-seven years. Jack attended the Lone Star rural school in Ellis County and at seventeen years of age, he began working as a mechanic for his brother, John Care, in Oklahoma City. He learned the trade well, one which he followed most of his life. Mr. Care spent some time working with the C.C.C.'s at Woodward, then was employed in construction work in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico. He also worked in the Silver Mines of New Mexico as a Felter operator. On May 4, 1945, Jack Care was married to Betty Sue King at Arnett. The home was established at Arnett. Two daughters and one son, Cheryl, Dana and Steve were born to this union. Mr. Care was an employee of the A.V. Chesnut and Son Oil Company in Arnett for several years. His last employment was for the County of Ellis as a shop mechanic, then ill health intervened and forced his retirement. Mr. Care recently made his commitment of Faith in Christ and was baptized. Jack's special hobbies were hunting and fishing, and working in his vegetable garden. He was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. His grandchildren were very special to him, his constant pride and joy. He was a generous, ehlpful neighbor and friend. Mr. Care was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John T. Care, three brothers, Alfred, Lee, and John, Jr.; three sisters, May Care, Beulah Pummel, and Julia Crow; and one infant grandson, Travis Care. He is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Care; two daughtersx, Cheryl Barr of Vici and Dana Yowell of Reydon, and one son, Steve Care of Shattuck; six grandchildren; one sister, Vona Smith of Arnett; and two brothers, Boyd Care of Sweet Home, Oregon, and Orval Care of Vici; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services were held for Jack Care, Tuesday, June 19, 1982 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church, Arnett, Oklahoma with Carroll McCoy, pastor of the First Christian Church of Mutual, Oklahoma officiating. Burial followed in the DeBolt Cemetery, Arnett, Oklahoma. Arrangements were made by Shaw Funeral Home, Vici, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
