Carey, Reydon, died early Sunday, January 24, 1971, in Oklahoma City. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Reydon Community building. Rev. Charles Carpenter and Rev. George Ridley officiated. Born December 23, 1918 at Reydon. Mr. Carey was a Tech 4 veteran of World War II with four years service with the medical corps in the US Army, 2 years were in Foreign service overseas. He received two Bronze Service Stars, American Theatre and World War II Victory ribbons. He had resided all his life in Reydon where he attended school and had been employed in Oklahoma City. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Reydon. Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Ruth (Wink) Carey, Reydon; one brother, Charles A. of La Canada, California; one aunt, Mrs. Melville Danner, Cheyenne. Pallbearers were O.T. Parks, O.V. Shelton, John R. Peterson, Chuch Reynolds, E.S. McEntire, Eugene Estes. Burial was in the White Rose cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins and Son in charge of arrangements.
