All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Cross, Leary, Hunt, Meintsma Dean Von Cross was born February 4, 1896 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma and passed away May 6, 1984 in the Cheyenne Convalescent Home at the age of 88 years 3 months and 2 days after an extended illness. Dean had lived in the Cheyenne area all of his life. In 1921 he married ruth Leary and to this union was born a daughter, Nellye Ann. Ruth passed away in 1928. On June 15, 1930 he married Jeffa W. Hunt and to this union a son, Lester Dean was born. Dean was a Navy Veteran of WW I. He had served on The Selevtive Service Board for 25 years, was a Master Mason and had been a Rural Mail Carrier for 41 years. He had been a member of the Methodist church in Cheyenne since 1932. He was preceded in death by his parents, lst wife, 5 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife, Jeffa of the home; 1 daughter, Nellye Ann Meintsma of Edmond, Oklahoma; 1 son, Lester D. Cross of Pryor, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren and a host of many relatvies and friends. Services were May 8, 1984 at 10:30 a.m. in the Cheyenne United Methodist Church with Rev. Garland Spurlin and Reb. Aubrey Cowan officiating.
