All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Cross, Hunt, Meintsma, Lester Jeffa Willie Cross was born June 6, 1903 in Roger Mills County, Indian Territory and passed away January 20, 1988 in the Edmond Memorial Hospital, Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 14 days. Jeffa, the daughter of Robert Lester and Margaret Hunt grew up west of Cheyenne and attended school at Cheyenne. she received her teacher's certificate at Weatherford and taught at the Meadow Brook school until her marriage to Dean Von Cross on June 15, 1930. They have made Cheyenne their home since that tiem. She had been employed by the Cheyenne Mercantile Store and worked for a number of years for the Election Board and was a member of the Cheyenne United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1984 and 1 sister, Anita elizabeth Lester in 1969. She is survived by: 1 daughter, Nellye Anne Meintsma of Edmond, Oklahoma; 1 son, Lester Dean Cross of Pryor, Oklahoma; 1 sister Roberta Lester of Cheyenne; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, January 23, 1988 at 3:00 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, Cheyenne with Charles Horton officiating. Interment followed in Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Pallbearers were: Jack Barton, Diederic Von Meintsma, Dean Bogle Cross, Doug Adams Cross, James Dean Cross and J.N.
