Church was born March 13, 1931 in Berling, Oklahoma to Grace Dorothy and Archie Henderson Church. He passed away August 22, 2000 in Great Plains Regional Hospital, at the age of 69 years 5 months and 9 days. Charles graduated from Elk City High School. At the age of 16 he entered the National Guard. After graduation he enlised in the United States Navy and served hi country during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge he returned home and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BS in Physics. Charles worked for Schlumberger the next 18 years in Central and South America as well as the East Indies. He returned to Oklahoma and began working for OU teaching computer engineering until his retirement in 1997. He was preceded in death by his father, and 1 brother Sam D. Church. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, August 24, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dempsey Cemetery, Roger Mills county, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service, Elk City.
