Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, October 30, 1989 at the First Baptist Church of Topeka. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery of Topeka under direction of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Betty, the daughter of Ezra M. and Minnie B. Martin Morris, was born August 20, 1910 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma. On February 9, 1931 she married Murrary E. Churchill in Sayre. She graduated fromCheyenne and attended a business school in the late '20s in Oklahoma. She worked 12 years in Topeka and two years in St. Louis, Missouri, for Sears Roebuck. She also worked as a riveter for McDonald Aircrat Company during World War II. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Topeka, where she served on several borads and was a member of the American Baptist Women's organization. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Phyllis Butler of Fullerton, California and Pam Higgs of Topeka, Kansas; one son, Larry R. Churchill of Hartford, Connecuite; one sister, Bertie Car of Fort Worth, Texas; three brothers, Paul Morris of Gainesville, Florida, John Morris of Sand Spring, Oklahoma, and Clifford Morris of Victorville, California; five grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
