He departed this life on October 1, 1952 at 29 Palms, California, at the aged of 28 years 6 months and 3 days. Dale was reared and received his education in the Hammon community. In April 1943, he moved to Long Beach, California, and was living there at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Phyllis Kaye, in 1944, and is survived by two daughters, Shirley Marie and Sharon, Brawley, California, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar L. Creswell, Fairview, Oklahoma; a sistedr, Mrs. Earl Long, Butler, Oklahoma; and four brothers, namely, T. A. Creswell, Hammon, Oklahoma, Harold Creswell, Arlington, Virginia, J.D. Creswell, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Kenneth A. Dean, Hollywood, California. While Dale was vacationing recently near Yucca Valley, California, he was involvedd in a car accident, but escaped with only minor cuts and bruises. While going for help, after his wreck, he was hit by a passing motorist and sustained critical injuries which resulted in death ten days later. He had been an employee of Texas Oil Company, Long Beach for the past eight years. Funeral services were conducted October 6, 1952 at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church at Elk City with the Rev. Horace L. Janes officiating. Burial was in Fairlawn cemetery at Elk City. Casket bearers were Wayne Stalcup, Jack Stalcup, Keith Clements, Dale Long, E.T. Stalcup and Harvey Stalcup.
