Gary Harber officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home. Laura Belle Carter was born in Oklahoma and died Saturday January 4, 1997 at the age of 86. Laura Blackburn was married to Marshall "Bud" Carter on January 26, 1930 in Cheyenne and they spent most of their life farming in the Berlin area. She was a member of the Berlin Community Club, a volunteer for the Sayre Auxiliary at Sayre Hospital and a member of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include: two sons, Bill Carter and his wife Arlene of Elk City and Jack Carter and his wife Oleta of Berlin; three sisters, Fay Hill, Jane Jones and Olene Neal all of California, 30 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
