Carwl, a pioneer of the Dempsey community, died suddenly on the streets of Cheyenne last Saturday morning, February 25, 1950. Death came to Mr. Carwl about 10:00 o'clock near the Savage Oil Company Station. Cause of his death was attributed to a heart attack. J.M. Crawl was born May 11, 1886 at Terrill, Texas. In 1903 he came to western Oklahoma and homesteaded in the Grimes-Dempsey community where he had resided since. In 1925 he was married to Marie Lawrence who survives him: Ohter survivors are one brother, T.J. crawl, Arcadia, Kansas; and two sisters, Mrs. Georege Stoval, Sr., of Sayre, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Mary E. Mann, Portales, New Mexico. Mr. Crawl has been a member of the Church of Christ for a number of years.
