Charles moved with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ed Carl, to this county about sixteen years ago and resided near here since that time. Last December he wasa married to Laura Casady with whom he has lived but four months until the time of his decease. Charlie Carl was a boy who was loved by all who knew him. His sterling worth, his dependabilty and his general disposition was recognized by all which accounts for his wide range of friendship. At the time of his decease he was planning to leave the next day for Ohio to take a coursed in acetyline welding preparatory to accepting a position in the Davis Garage of this city. The tragedy which caused the untimely death of this fine young man caused a shadow of gloom to be cast over the town and the neighborhood in which he resided, which time alone can lift. Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church of this city in this city by Rev. McCrary pastor of that church, in the presence off a large crowd of friends and loved ones. Afterward the remains were taken to the Cheyenne cemetery where they were laid to rest beneath a mound covered with the floral offerings of friends. The crows attending the funeral and burial was one of the largest ever congregated in this city on an occasion of this kind. Those from a distance attending the funeral were: J.A. Gunter of Lincoln County who is Mrs. Ed Carl's father, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Carl of Morris, Oklahoma, an uncle and aunt of Mr. and Mrs. Hensewll Strosse of Weatherford, Oklahoma, the latter being a sister of Mrs. Charles Carl. Charles leaves to mourn his loss the devoted wife, father, mother, and brother, Henry, and one sister, Norma, several uncles, aunts, grandparents, cousins, and a host of friends. The Star joins the many friends of the two sorrowing families in retending sympathy to them in this great bereavement.
