Interment will be in the Mulberry Cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Geraldine Myrtle Carlson was born July 11, 1921 at Berlin to Robert and Minnie Rae (Riley) Brittain and died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the age of 88. She graduated from Merritt High School and was married to E.N. Carlson, Jr. on July 5, 1941 at Mangum. They farmed and ranched in the Sweetwater area before moving to Erick in 1965. They moved to Elk City in 1973 and she started a career with JC Penny Company where she worked for some 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elk City. Preceding her in death were her husband and her parents. Survivors includce two sons, Gene Carlson and his wife, Sherri, of Sweetwater, Oklahoma, Dean Carlson and his wife, Molly, of Sweetwater; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one sister, Joy Ransbottom and her husband, Don, of Hollis, Oklahoma.
