"Kris" Conrad, it is with much sadness we announce the passing of beloved mother, sister, grandmother and wife, on the 28th day of August 2008. June will be remembered for her strength, love of family and God and her ability to see the good in all things. When she was well, she was a tireless volunteer in the community, devoting much of her time to the Tulsa spotlight Theatre, volunteering for the Tulsa State Fair, The Tulsa Airport information booth, the Street School of Tulsa as well as family and friends. Born June Louise Morrison on April 6, 1934, in Tulsa. She was the youngest of 4 children born to Charles and Madge Morrison of Redfork. June grew up on Tulsa's west side where she attended Daniel Webster High School. She was the first member of her family to receive a highschool diploma. In 1954, June met and fell in love with, Charles Ray Conrad of Cheyenne, Oklahoma. They were married in a private ceremony in Oklahoma City, and moved to Tulsa to live as a married couple. In March of 1959, she gave birth to her only child, Kristi June. June loved a good adventure and to travel. Her adventures took her to Los ASsngeles, CA where she lived for many years. During that time, she worked for UCLA Medical Center and Daniel Freeman Hospital. June also loved Hawaii and was able to fulfill her dream of living there in the early 80's. She resided in Aica, Hawaii and worked at the Punahoe School in Honolulu. June's ability to laugh, love and enjoy life are traits that characterize her best. Until the day she died she was always concerned about others, and if she could offer as helping hand, she would. During her long bout of illness, she never gave up and fought the battle of diabetes and heart disease with a courageous face and uplifted sprite. June is survived by: husband Charles Conrad of Tulsa; daughter, Kristi Stewart, grandson, Brendan Stewart, son-in-law, Mark Stewart, all of Toronto, Canada; brother, Robert Morrison, sister-in-law, Judy Morrison of Berryhill; sister, Lorene Poe of Texas. Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday September 4th, 2008 at the Rose Chapel, Boston Avenue Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to the American diabetes Association in honor of her memory. Directed by Moore's Eastlawn Chapel.
