Covington, tinner at the O.R. Prestridge Hardware who was burned by a solderine pot explosion about two weeks ago, died at the local hospital last Friday morning in spite of the best of medical aid. The attending physician had little hopes of his recovery from the first and his death was no surprise to them. When the soldering pot exploded it threw burning gasoline over his feet and legs which set fire to his clothing which burned from his body to his waist. In an effort to remove his burning clothes his hands as well as the lower part of his body were fairly cooked. Three brothers from Mangum, a sister from Texola and cousin from Oklahoma City were at his bedside at the time of his death. While Mr. Covington had been a resident of our town only a short time he had many warm friends who mourn with heartstricken relatives.
