Pastor Wayne Scott Creach, age 74, beloved husband, father, grandfather, pastor, and longtime businessman in Spokane, Washington, died unexpectedly while protecting his home and business on Wednesday night, August 25, 2010. Born May 20,1936, "Pastor Scott" grew up on a farm outside Hammon. A fourth-generation "Hammon-ite", he continued to maintain his relationship with friends and family there throughout his life. He was raised by his grandparents, Arthur and Dessie Mae Creach, after the death of his mother, Edith Stringfellow Creach, in 1937. He moved to Kellogg, Idaho, in 1956 due to the extended drought in Oklahoma and worked for the Bunker Hill Mine until 1958. ! In 1965, Scott and his family moved to the Spokane Valley. He worked as the Early Dawn Dairy's quality control supervisor until 1974 when his fledgling greenhouse business demanded his attention full-time. Today, the Creach Greenhouse and Plant Farm is a living legacy of eastern Washington's rich agricultural heritage located in the heart of Spokane Valley. He had a deep love of good earth and a passion for things that grow. Scott's true calling in life was to spread the Gospel message that Jesus saves from sin and makes lives new again. He served as a pastor for over 45 years in Oklahoma, Idaho and Washington, and started Green Acres Baptist Church in 1971. He helped establish and reestablish churches in Green Acres, Otis Orchards, Spokane, Kellogg, St. Maries, Cheney and Medical Lake and has supported Christian missionaries scattered throughout the world. He is preceded in death by his father, Ernest E. Creach, and is survived by his step-mother, Virginia Creach, wife Imogene, four sisters Colleen, Marlene, Darlene, Alana, and four brothers Walt, Paul, Dan and Bill. His family includes two daughters, Serena and Edith, two sons, Alan and Ernie, twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
