Seas Coursey, was born February 5, 1908, in the Riverview Community, southeast of Camargo. She passed away Wednesday, February 1, 1989 in Woodward Medical Center, Woodward, Oklahoma at the age of eighty years, eleven months and twenty-six days. Mildred Doris attended the Riverview rural school, along with her several brothers and sisters and the distinction of having lived her entire life in the Riverview-Camargo area. She remembers always those early days in Dewey County when transportation and all farm work depended completely upon horse-power, and along with other members of her family, accepted her share of Pioneer living, knowing that 'twas the only way of life in a new land. On December 25, 1925, Mildred Doris Coursey and Jim W. Day were united in marriage at Taloga, Oklahoma. The home was established near Camargo, and here their family of seven children were born: Ileta, Arlene, Jimmie, Gayle, Verlin, Linda, Ray and Kay. Jim and Mildred Day were loving and caring parents, interested in working and improving their community, making of it a happy and desirable place for rearing their family. They were loyal fans and supporters in all school activities, maintaining this enthusiasm throughout their lives. In 1952, Mrs. Day made her commitment of Faith in Christ, was baptized, and became a member of the First Christian Church of Camargo. She was by choice, Homemaker, and to this chosen way of life she remained dedicated over the years. Her special interests were he home and family, including her grandchildren, and special hobbies which she enjoyed were reading, sewing quilting and gardening and she had a special love for animals, both great and small. Mrs. Day was preceded in death by her husband, Jim W. Day and two grandsons, Wallace Allen and Jeff Mercer; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Coursey; six sisters, Bettie Wray, Tinn Lindley, Reta Gregory, Maggie Collins, Minnie Riseley and Mamie Coursey; and seven brothers, Ed Coursey, Bob, Roy, Jasper, Dolph, Clyde and Frank Coursey. She is survived by four daughters, Ileta Allen of Camargo, Arlene Mercer of Kingfisher, Linda Newton of Parsons, Kansas and Kay Salisbury of Cheyenne; three sons, Gayle Day of Yellville, Arkansas, Verlin Day of Vici, and Ray Day of Damargo; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews, other loved ones and numberless friends. Services for Mildred Doris Day were held Friday, February 3, 1989 at 2:30 p.m. in the First Christian Church of Camargo with Mark Smith and Ewel Vaughan officiting. Interment followed in the Camargo Cemetery under the direction of Shaw Funeral Home of Vici, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
