Grave side services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 1996 in Edith Ford Cemetery with Rex Boyles, minister of the Canadian Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements were by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mr. Davis was born in Crawford. He was raised in Crawford and moved to Canadian in 1952. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a self-employed fence contractor and a member of the Canadian Church of Christ. He married Betty L. Carr in 1953 at Clovis, New Mexico. She preceded him in death in 1980. Survivors include: two sons, John Davis of Toyahvale, Texas, and Shawn Davis of Canadian, Texas; two daughters, Cindy Brown of McLean, Texas and Tyna Hardin of Canadian; three brothers, LaVon Davis of Forest Grove, Oregon; Floyd Davis of Elk City and Bill Davis of Ames, and eight grandchildren.
