Vernor had lived his entire life in western Oklahoma. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He leaves to mourn his passing besides his wife of the home address, his son Jack and wife and three grandsons, Gary, Vernon and Kerry, two sisters, Irene Davis of Hillboro, Oregon and Gertrude Lucas of Durham, Oklahoma; three brothers, Charlie of Crawford, Virgil, of Roll, and Harley of Abaline, Texas. Funeral services were held in Crawford gym with Don Kester of Elk City as the officiating minister. Interment was in the Silent Home cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
