Charley grew up in Roger Mills County and lived in the Crawford and Roll communities before moving to Cheyenne in 1975, when he retired from farming. On, June 30, 1923 he was married to Miss Josie Logan in Strong City. She preceded him in death in 1932. On June 19, 1962 Mr. Davis and Esther Simpson Montgomery were married in Elk City, OK. He was a member of the Church of Christ in the Crawford community and continued to worship there until his health prevented it. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, 2 brothers and 1 sister. In addition to his wife, Esther of the home, Charley is survived by 4 sons, Charley Lavon of Forest Grove, Oregon; Floyd R. of Elk City; Ernest L. of Canadian, Texas; Billy Jo of Ames, OK; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 step-children, Maxine Williams, Cheyenne; Evelyn Branch, Cheyenne; and Gerald Montgomery, Crawford; 13 step-grandchildren; 1 sister, Gertrude Lucas of Cheyenne and his twin brother, Harley Davis of Spearman, Texas -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Roger Mills Archives http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/rogermills/rogermills.html
