Davis were conducted in Cheyenne Wednesday afternoon, March 7, 1945 after which interment was made in the Elk City cemetery. The funeral sermon was preached by Albert Trent, minister of the Church of Christt of Sentinel, Oklahoma. Mr. Davis died suddenly ay his home in Cheyenne early Monday morning after an illness of about one hour. Although Mr. Davis had been in poor health for more than a year, his death came as a great shock to his many friends in this community. O.E. Davis was a natural booster he was a booster for the school, for the town, for the Kiwanis Club of which he was a member. He was a good detail man and carried out each and evedry assignment made for him in the way of civic affairs. During the time he resided in Cheyenne he had made many close friends and was known by all. He will be greatly missed by the town as a whole, by the school, and by the Kiwanis Club. Mr. Davis was Roger Mills County's Tage Agent at the time of his passing. O.E. Davis was born at Thayer, Missouri, Appril 13, 1895, and he died at his home in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, March 5, 1945. He came to western Oklahoma in January, 1919, and had made his home here until his death. In 1921 he was married to Miss Nannie Borner (not sure of spelling could be Borger) of Elk City, Oklahoma. Surviving Mr. Davis are his wife, Mrs. O.E. Davis, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, his mother and father, Mr. ands Mrs. Landen Davis, Alamagorda, New Merxico; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Risner, Los Angeles, California, Mrs. T.J. Hart, Alamagordo, New Mexico; two brothers, Elmer L. Davis, Thurican, Oklahoma, and John L. Davis, Joslin, Missouri, and a number of nieces and nephews. The two brothers and his parents were among the relatives present at the funeral.
