All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Dovell, Northrup, Burkarth Jetta Maydell Northrup was born at Durham, Oklahoma, November 29, 1912 to Tom and Mary Northrup. She departed this life August 24, 1956, at a hospital in Woodward at the age of 43 years, 8 months and 6 days. She was married to Dan Dovell in 1929. To this union were born two sons, Donald Dee and Jasper Lee. Jetta spent her girlhood in the Durham community. She accepted Christ as her Saviour at an early age and became a member of the Methodist church. After the marriage she lived at Borger, Texas and at Grass Valley, California. She was living again at Durham when her health failed and she entered the hospital at Woodward for medical care. Her health improved very much and the doctors gave her family promise of her soon return to her home. But an attack of heart failure, August 24, 1956, ended her life and the plans her loved ones had for her. Memorial services were held at the Baptist church in Durham August 28, 1956 Rev. Laverne Campbell officiating. Interment was in Fairview cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her father, two sisters and two brothers. She leaves to mourn her passing her mother, Mrs. Mary Northrup of Durham; sons, Donald of Elk City and Jasper, a lieutenant at Mountain Home Air Base in Idaho; two grandchildren, Daniel Lee of Elk City and Kathleene Rosemary of Mountain Home; two brothers, Norman of Tooele, Utah and Harry of Oak Creek, Colorado, an aunt, Mrs. Jetta Burkarth of Burbank, California, and a host of other relatives and friends.
